The Ride

The 9th annual Spellbound Century road bike event starts from historic Mount Holly, NJ, the county seat of Burlington County, and takes riders through local historic towns, by farms and scenic areas on mostly flat roads with some challenging hills. 

The Spellbound Century ride will begin and end in downtown Mount Holly on the MHMUA Parking lot, 1 Park Drive.  Parking will be on the Mount Holly Municipal parking lots off Rancocas Rd, and across the Burlington County Court House. There will be volunteers present to help you locate the Municipal parking lot. GPS address Burlington County Court House, Rancocas Rd, Mount Holly, NJ 08060.

All registrants must check-in at the registration tent and sign the waiver (if not signed), to receive their bib number unless you had pre-registered. The check-in tent will be located on the MUA parking lot across from the Mount Holly Municipal Building on 1 Park Drive. There will be bike mechanics from Mt Holly Bicycles, Aistriu and Wheelies Bike Shop available assist you with any minor mechanical issues. IT’S HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU HAVE YOUR BIKE CHECKED BEFORE THE RIDE. For your convenience, there are port-a-johns available on site and bike racks to park your bikes.  

RIDER CHECK-IN: 

All riders are asked to arrive at the designated times below which is broken down by the mileage they plan to ride. Please adhere to the below group check in times. All riders can depart after checking in or if they are pre-registered. There will be photographers taking photos, which will be for sale after the event. Remember, you didn't ride if you don't have a photo!

You can pre-register on Friday or register on ride day. There are four registration and start times on July 30. To maximize social distancing please show up only at your registration time:

Pre-Registration, Friday, July 28:

  • 5:30 to 7:30 pm Spellbound Brewing, 10 Lippincott Lane, Mount Holly, NJ (map link)
     

Ride Day Registration, Saturday, July 29:

  • 100 miles - Register: 6:00 am/ Rollout: 6:30 - 6:45 am

  • 65 miles - Register: 7:00 am/ Rollout: 7:30 - 7:45 am

  • 45 miles - Register: 8:00 am/ Rollout: 8:30 - 8:45 am

  • 20 miles - Register: 8:30 am/ Rollout: 9:15 - 9:30 am

Ride Start & Finish

The ride routes are marked and fully SAG supported. The routes will be color coordinated and marked with road arrows and yard signs pointing in the direction to travel. The 100-mile riders will follow the orange arrows, the 65 milers will follow the green arrows, the 45 milers will follow yellow arrows and the 20 milers will follow the purple arrows.

The routes are created as an event in Ride with GPS thanks to the TnT Cycling Team Account. By having access to the route on the team account you have:

Rest Stops and Farm Stand Product Purchases

The rest stops will be stocked with fresh fruits, Rip Van Waffles, water, hydration products from GU, snack bars, Pickle Juice, Natalie's Juices, Gatorade, Coke and peanut butter sandwiches.
 

The Spellbound Century rest stops are at local farm markets where you can make purchases of local Jersey Fresh produce and baked goods. The farm markets accept cash and credit cards so make you sure you carry them with you. Items purchased will be delivered to the finish for you. Depending on your mileage route riders will be stopping at:  

  • Emery’s Blueberry Farm in New Egypt where you can purchase the best pies in NJ

  • Mr. McGregor’s Garden in Jobstown where you can purchase fruits, vegetables, bake goods and more

  • Specca Farms Pick Your Own in Bordentown for fresh vegetables including corn, tomatoes and more

  • Rancocas Creek Farm in Southampton for organic vegetables

An important note: - Remember, it will be hot so ride the miles you are comfortable with on event date. Century riders can decide as to whether to proceed on the Century route or to follow the Metric Century Route after the first stop at mile 24 at Emery Farms.

End of Ride & Post-Ride Celebration

The event also includes a post-ride celebration where you will be treated to a pint of beer from Spellbound Brewing, pizza, Italian water ice, local vendors, and live music. Participants who registered early will receive the beautiful event t-shirt. Additionally, Century riders will be awarded a custom-made pin and medal in recognition of their day’s accomplishment.

At The End Of Your Ride:

Please report to the registration tent in Downtown Mount Holly when you finish the ride to receive your event bag and complimentary t-shirt. MEDALS AND PINS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR CENTURY RIDERS ONLY. Farm Purchases can be pick up on the side door of the Municipal Building by the Police Department.

Lunch and beer will be served at the Beer Tent on the back of the Shin House Parking Lot Across from the Registration Area off Commerce Street. Lunch will be serve starting at 10:45 AM till 3:30 PM. Everyone will receive a glass of beer, pizza, and Vincent’s Italian Water Ice. There will be Gluten Free pizza available so let the event director know if you want one, so we know how many to order. Vegetarian food will be available thanks ShokRa Soup. Also, Donkeys “Steak” Place Downtown it's located next to the Registration Parking lot. Just follow the aroma! There will also be live music to entertain you, provided by local band Modern Mojo!

There will be a recovery stations provided by the Stretch Lab, Marlton, NJ and an Ice Bath company. Plus, Mount Holly Bicycles, Country Road Cannabis, MK3 Wealth, 1st Colonial Community Bank and more vendors will be present.

Safety Rules: 

Please always remember to bring and wear a helmet. In the state of NJ, bicycles are considered motor vehicles, so please follow all the rules of the road. Additionally, bicyclists can’t ride more than to two aside in the State of NJ. Don’t wear headphones. When riding please ride as near to the right side of the roadway as practical, always pass a fellow cyclist on the left, be courteous when passing riders by announcing yourself, don’t cross wheels and exercise due care when passing a standing vehicle. BE ALERT. Also, DON’T LITTER. Carry your garbage with you to the rest stop. REMEMBER THIS IS NOT A RACE!!
